Gallery
The Gallery module allows you to post pictures to your site. Upon upload, images are saved as thumbnail and full size versions. The first page will list up to 30 of your gallery entries in descending order of having been created. The columns provide you with the following information and options: ID: This is a unique identifier for each gallery entry. Title: The title of the gallery entry allows you to easily discern between each item on the page. It is also the title seen by visitors. This column displays the category in which this entry belongs. Status: This column may read Active meaning that this entry is available to viewers to see on the site. It may also read In-Active meaning that this entry is not available to visitors, however it is also still in your database and not deleted. This can be used if you allow visitors to upload their own images to the site. The image can be reviewed by an administrator before being made active. Upload New This is perhaps the most used administration feature as it is where you can upload a new image. New images that are uploaded are placed in the proper directories after being resized. They are also renamed to prevent overwriting of existing images. Upon upload, this image will automatically be made Active. This means it will be available for viewing by visitors on your site. Image to Upload: Press Browse to locate and select an image that has been saved on your computer. This image will then be uploaded with this new entry. There are restrictions to uploading your own images. They must be JPG type images and they must be under 150Kb in size (you don't want your visitors having to download larger images on your pages). Upon uploading, your images will be saved in two sizes. One thumb image and one larger size image. These images can be displayed based on the construction of your website. Most sites do not require the use of multiple categories and will not require any administration. This page provides you with a list of your existing categories as well as links to go back to the gallery listings or add a new category. If your site does use multiple categories, then they will allow you to display category specific news on separate pages. Add New Title: This is the name of your category. This is the only required field. Description: This description of your category entered here may be used differently depending on the construction of your website. It may be displayed at the top of the sections page for the user or may be displayed on a page listing all of your available news categories. Image: This image may not be used depending on the construction of your website. It may be placed within the text of the article for classification. It may also be used on the page that lists all of your available categories. Post: Save your changes. Settings It is not recommended that you change the settings for this module as doing so may break its functionality. These settings have been set for you upon construction of your website and require no additional input.
